L’Oréal Paris honors the worth and beauty of all women by recognizing those who are making a difference. Nominate an exceptional woman in her community at http://bit.ly/1hu7arc for @LOrealParisUSA #WomenofWorth for a chance to win up to $35,000 for her cause.

http://lopusa.tv/womenofworth L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth celebrates women who find the beauty in giving back by helping people and sparking a change in society. Every year L’Oréal Paris honors 10 women by providing a national platform for their causes and up to $35,000.

Women are championing human rights. Women are saving lives with early detection and giving kids second chances. They are making a beautiful difference and changing the world. L’Oréal opens the door for someone making a difference with the courage to see what others ignore, the strength to overcome obstacles, and the passion to inspire hope and change. Help us find our 2017 honorees, nominate your woman of worth.

New York Post seeking STC group helping a cancer patient.

NY Post Header / Logo

This is to be an article on the people you can surround yourself with to help you with your diagnosis/treatment/recovery. A kind of “it takes a village” look at cancer. It may be something that people end up doing intuitively, but we hope this will help those who need some structure after receiving scary news, or fill in the holes for others. I’ll want to talk to you about your “team,” which may include a doctor network; a bff; a patient advocate (sometimes provided by hospital if you ask); a personal advocate to make and take you to appointments; a chemo buddy; a recovery group.

Requirements:
Lives in the tri-state area and kicked cancer with the help of a team of friends/advocates/doctors with specific goals/duties

STC Holiday Gift Box
Did you ever stop to think that the holidays have something in common with times of illness? They offer priceless opportunities to show our love and we often discover that we have received an even greater gift in return.
During the holidays, family caregivers and their loved ones can enjoy precious “quality time” together because of the efforts of their STC group. And for someone with no real family, their “created STC family” can replace loneliness and fear with comfort that can benefit them throughout the New Year. At the same time, individuals within a STC group can realize that working together has gifted each of them with of a profound life experience.
During this holiday season, if you have never made a donation to ShareTheCaregiving, Inc. before please consider giving a gift to support our efforts to reach and teach an even wider audience about STC and help to build a more caring and compassionate world for all of us.
We ask that you  take action now to make a tax-deductible donation of $100, $500 or $1,000, or whatever you can afford, to help us grow and expand our efforts. If you are currently part of a STC group, you can make a significant donation as a whole group by pooling your funds.

SHARE THE CARE End of Year Accomplishments & Appeal

SHARE THE CARE™ IS LOOKING FORWARD TO 2017
November/December 2016
Dear Share The Care™ Supporters,

STC_Accomplishments_2016-3You are the BEST! We are always encouraged by the enthusiasm that groups, health professionals, faith communities, working caregivers and our friends have for the STC model. It is the fuel that keeps us going.  Last year your donations made it possible for us to present STC and the research at several highly visible global conferences in order to build awareness that STC is an evidence-informed caregiving model. We were very successful in establishing important new contacts and interest for STC. Thank you!

At the top of our wish list for this year are funds to purchase (newer) refurbished computers and tech person to install software and transfer all our files. Our equipment is totally outdated. Our computer operating systems are no longer supported by FireFox or Safari so that drastically limits our ability to participate in certain webinars or download files. We are also in great need of a lighter, and more up-to-date laptop for travel/teaching.

COLLABORATIONS are key to expansion in 2017 and we are delighted to report on one already in action. STC and Road Scholar have joined forces to give family caregivers and individuals in STC groups an  opportunity to apply for ten educational travel grants. STC is reaching out to our STC groups and to other organizations in order to alert their caregivers about this chance for a well-deserved respite experience. If you qualify to apply, or in the case of STC groups, you have a deserving member you’d like to nominate, check out the special landing page we have created for this exciting promotion.

If you are part of an STC group, or are helped by one, please reflect on your experience and the value of having a ready-made plan to organize and sustain your group. We need you to TAKE ACTION NOW to back our work generously this year. A meaningful tax-deductible donation of $100, $500 or $1,000 or more would help sustain our efforts. To donate online go to: www.sharethecare.org or if you prefer by check. If sending a check, please send to the address below and make it payable to:

A Healthy and Magical Holiday Season,
